I feel so lucky to have Kyle as the guitar/ukulele teacher for my 8 and 5 year old boys! He is obviously a tremendous professional as a guitar player and he uses his skill and knowledge as a teacher to my boys. He is such a good teacher, I drive quite a bit out of my way so that my boys can have the best teacher possible! Kyle is very caring and patient with my boys, but also knows when to push them so that they can reach their potential. These guitar lessons have brought me closer with my boys as we practice nearly every day together in preparation for the next week’s lesson. I am thankful for Kyle’s approach to learning music with fun songs that my boys love to play, and it’s another fun topic to talk about with my boys throughout the week. I highly recommend Kyle as your guitar teacher, or for your kids, without hesitation!

I have been taking music lessons since I was 1 year old. After struggling with piano for years, and taking basic guitar lessons from a few other teachers and struggling more, I became frustrated. At age 14 I started taking lessons from Kyle. I stuck with him until the day I moved out of my parents house at 18. He understands the theory behind music and helped me see how the theory applied translates to skill. His teaching ability kept me focused and motivated, and his assertive yet calm attitude is perfect for motivating anyone who is stuck at a plateau. Respectful, chill, price is reasonable, and is willing to work with you based on your skill level. You can also ask questions anytime during the week and he will get back to you. I went from irrational fear of playing guitar to loving it as a fun hobby. Make sure to ask questions for elaboration, as he tends to throw a lot of musical terms, and it can be a little hard to follow sometimes, as someone who hasn't delved much into music theory. But this is a rather minor detail because as stated before, he works with your needs as a student and you just need to ask questions.

I have been taking guitar lessons from Kyle for a year now, and I can’t believe how quickly he has fine tuned my playing. I’m very fortunate to have Kyle be my “first” guitar teacher because as a beginner, he has surely put me on the correct path for success. How could I know if he is a good teacher, one might think, if Kyle is my first teacher? Well, it is because I have had many piano teachers over the past 30 years. I’m an accomplished pianist, and I have had many, many piano teachers; therefore, I feel comfortable grouping a guitar teacher and a piano teacher together because they are both music teachers. To that end, what makes Kyle such a skilled instructor? Four main characteristics: first, he is always very understanding to the student’s needs and motivations; second, Kyle is very kind when he teaches and never makes me feel “stupid” or “dumb” even when it is the most simplest concept. He just clarifies the confusion and makes further assessment without being overbearing or overly critical; third, and I personally feel this to be an important aspect of any service, and that is punctuality and preparedness. Not once have I ever felt lessons to be drawn out, boring, or just repetitive. Every lesson is fresh, insightful, and applicable to helping me progress as a student. Fourth, this might sound like a cliche, but Kyle makes lessons fun. That is the key to any successful teacher. If the teacher can make the learning experience fun and enjoyable then the student will surely be more apt to learn, retain information, and improve as a musician. I highly recommend Kyle as a qualified teacher and musician who can help anyone at any level improve and become more confident in their playing ability.
